More than 40 miniature landmarks, friendly animals and indoor play halls — a full family day out, approx. 35 km from Ostoja (May–September).
Mazurolandia — Masuria in miniature and a day full of fun
Mazurolandia is a miniature park and family amusement park near Kętrzyn, on the Kętrzyn–Węgorzewo road, about 35 km from Ostoja Dwa Jeziora. You will find more than forty models of Warmian and Masurian landmarks at a scale of 1:25, animals, bouncy castles and three indoor play halls. The park is open from May to the end of September — it is at its best for families with children.
Mazurolandia lies near Kętrzyn, on the Węgorzewo–Kętrzyn road, just past the Wolf's Lair (Wilczy Szaniec). In a single day you can see the most important landmarks of Warmia and Masuria — only at 1:25 scale — while the children get so much to do that it will be hard to coax them back to the car.
The heart of the park is its collection of more than forty carefully crafted models: the basilica in Święta Lipka, the palace in Sztynort, the Stańczyki viaducts, Boyen Fortress, and Teutonic castles led by Malbork. Strolling between them is a great “map” of the region — after your visit you will recognise many of these places in real life. Nearby stand genuine nineteenth-century cottages, one Warmian and one Masurian, fully furnished.
The other half of the park belongs to the youngest visitors: animals (alpacas, ponies, donkeys, rabbits), bouncy castles, eurobungee and three indoor play halls in case the weather turns. Older children and adults can drop into the military museum, the shooting range and the section devoted to the Teutonic era. The grounds also preserve original ruins of one of the zones of Hitler's former headquarters.
The site is large — plan half a day or longer. It pairs best with the Wolf's Lair: history in the morning, fun in the afternoon.
Why it's worth a visit
- The whole region in one afternoon — the miniatures include the basilica in Święta Lipka, the palace in Sztynort, the Stańczyki bridges, Boyen Fortress and Malbork Castle, the largest model in the park.
- After the visit, children recognise the landmarks “for real” — a great incentive for further trips.
- One place, several worlds: miniatures, genuine nineteenth-century Warmian and Masurian cottages, the Military Museum, the Teutonic Museum and a shooting range.
- Animals up close — the Alpaca House offers an instructor-led encounter, plus Pony Land, Donkey Land and the Republic of Free Rabbits.
- A rainy-day plan B included in the same admission ticket: three indoor play halls.
- The grounds preserve original ruins of the fourth zone of the Wolf's Lair — a piece of real history among the attractions.
- It lies about 900 m past the main zone of the Wolf's Lair, so it is easy to plan a day of “history in the morning, fun in the afternoon”.
